In this troubling time, VOENA is inviting you to accept a new challenge to bring joy and hope to the world in a time of uncertainty and fear.
We are creating a virtual choir video. See this video for an example of what we are doing:

We will be performing Higher and Higher (music below). Each of you have been practicing your parts for the upcoming concert, so this should be a snap, right? Now we will put them together and create an uplifting video for everyone to share.
Each of you will choose a quiet place, listen to the music on the Member Support Site (using headphones or earbuds) and sing your part of the song. You will (audio and video) record yourself singing your part. Focus on being on pitch with precision and vocal quality. You may need to do a few takes to get it just right for the WHOLE song! It is important that you only sing and record your part. All the different parts will be combined later.
We are still working on the best way to get video from everyone.
More specific instructions:
1) Video and Audio record only your part. Wear earbuds if you have them, or headphones if you don’t.
2) Choose a quiet place to record with as little outside noise as possible (cars, dogs barking, etc.).
3) Try to make your background plain and not distracting.
4) It is absolutely critical that everyone have the same timing. Listen to your part from the Member Support Site and sing along with it. If you previously downloaded your part, check again because there was a tempo glitch that had to be fixed. So the new download will be the correct one. VOR "do" the snapping - make the movement but NO actual noise! Fake it!
5) Sing all the way through in one take. It may take several tries to get it right. Be patient, don’t give up! Take a few breaths and try again.
6) Wear a VOENA shirt in the video.
7) Your framing for the video should be from your belly button up to an inch or two above your head.
8) Make sure you have adequate lighting. Florescent lights can sometimes cast a blue/green light on things. Try to make sure you look like you have a natural skin tone.
9) Makeup, hair, and jewelry guidelines are the same as for any VOENA performance.
10) Have your smart phone in the horizontal position when you record. This will give you more freedom to move your arms in the “higher and higher” gesture. Remember...horizontal NOT vertical.
11) Be animated! Act as if you are on stage. We are trying to lift spirits with this song. Smile and tell the story of the song with your body, arms, hands, face. Make sure you are animated the ENTIRE time, even when you aren't singing! If you're not, you might have to redo your clip!

SENDING INSTRUCTIONS:
1) When you have your video recorded, select the video and click on the blue word "Options" as highlighted here:
2) The default "Send As" option is "Automatic" (as seen on the left below) - make sure you change it to "Individual Video" (as seen on the right below).

3) Once it is set to "Individual Video" you are ready to send to Tony!
